Sky Lanterns become popular to use some years ago. They are a unique and novel idea for any party or festive occasion. They are simple and easy to use. Make sure to check them out.
Unfortunately we are no longer able to permit the use of Sky Lanterns due to our location surrounded by the woodland setting area as well as close proximity to the harbour and main road. These lanterns are mainly suitable in calm weather where there is no wind.
Watch as the lantern is let float off into the sky. It initially goes in the direction of someone standing close by but the slow movement of the candle enables a retreat. The candle then gently lifts off into the sky with the slight and very mild wind.
Sky Lanterns set off into the sky at the Rectory Open Day/ Wedding Fair in Glandore, West Cork 2008. A very unusual experience as a massive flock of birds come soaring over the harbour. I wonder are they too fans of the unusual lanterns?
